Nun of the Above

It's been awhile since i had on opportunity to visit blogspot again.. a rather busy period of life in the 'waking'.. some stuff that happened:

1) I've officially started my duty on the Site. This means that during my duty period my crew team will be full-time at the Site for a few days before the next crew comes and takes over. The duty period can be rather 'disruptive' to your sleeping cycle, but you end up getting more 'off' days than if you stayed in camp from mon to fri, though scattered among the week. This would mean i may be finally able to do some 'weekday stuff'.. *snicker*

2) Two of my secondary school friends, Melody and Joel, had left Singapore for 'pursuit of future studies abroad'. 12th Feb was the farewell BBQ gathering at Joel's place at Thomson (a sleek huge 3 storey house.. How many houses does Joel's family have??). The usual crowd plus some people whom i haven't seen for awhile (elfin, weiliang etc) and some whom i didn't fancy seeing at all. Anyways it was quite toned down, people gathering in their own 'clicks'. That is until Joel and Chun got the liquor. People began to get drunk and do 'drunk' things (points at rasis who poured his drink on his pants upteen times and faizal who slept in joel's toilet). Sad to think of it as a probable conclusion to the 'Ioven' - Perhaps that's the fullstop to the weird friendship between all of us.. perhaps it isn't yet.
Maybe i'll write up a more meaningful 'introspective' on this someday. Someday. (tosses to Another Day tray)

3) I've gone back to card-flopping Magic the Gathering again after quiting back in 1999. *shierk* What started as a 'simple pasttime' during admin time with my section mates back in BMT has bounced me back to an interest in it again. It sorta wore off after we POP'ed and when our section got 'splited up' when we were posted to our respective vocations, but it 'came back' (insert raise from dead SFX) when Ah-Lian (my BMT Buddy who, as uncanny as it can get, got posted to the same unit, same squadron and same Flight as i am and currently a fellow member of my crew team) and i found out that some of the regulars in our Flight too are 'card-floppers'! We then brought our decks to camp and played, attracting the other guys in our bunk to start playing... just like back in BMT!
Maybe i'll write up a more meaningful 'introspective' on this someday. Someday. (tosses to Another Day tray)

Perhaps you have (or had) noticed this, but i don't pen down things as strongly when it had passed for some time. It's like a 3-day-old Big Mac (i've seen one). The lettuce is yellow like pee, the beef looks gooey, and the bread has weird patches. Yes, the smell. To finally sit down and write something that has happened sometime ago is like eating that Big Mac and imagining that it is still fresh over the counter. However that's not always the case: sometimes it is like eating one of those preserved fruits... you know it was a fresh juicy fruit, but when you put it in your mouth after preserving a whole different set of taste comes in. Suddenly it tastes colourfully sweet and cheek-crackingly sour, after sometime it gets tasteless, or even bitter. A sign for you to swallow it finally.

For me it now tastes like that Big Mac.
